With the sonoro STREAMER and the sonoro AMPLIFIER, sonoro audio is expanding its portfolio with two new audio components designed for both living-room use and professional installations. The devices will be unveiled at Light + Building in Frankfurt (March 8–13, 2026). The market launch is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
Both new developments follow a modular approach: the STREAMER targets active speakers, power amps, or multichannel setups, while the AMPLIFIER is aimed at passive hi-fi and in-wall speakers. sonoro is explicitly positioning both devices for structured multiroom and rack installations as well.
Streaming, connections and signal processing
The sonoro STREAMER is designed as a network-based source component and offers a wide range of connections, including HDMI (eARC), optical inputs and outputs, LAN, Wi-Fi, USB-A, analog inputs, plus separate line, pre, sub and trigger outputs. For digital-to-analog conversion, sonoro uses an ESS SABRE DAC, which, according to the manufacturer, is intended to enable high resolution on all analog outputs.
The sonoro AMPLIFIER combines streaming functions with an integrated Class D power amp. It is rated at 2 × 250 watts into 4 ohms, also supported by an ESS SABRE DAC. Connectivity includes HDMI (ARC), an optical input, LAN, Wi-Fi, USB-A, a subwoofer output and an analog input, among others. Both devices offer extensive adjustment options for EQ and bass management.
New sonoro multiroom
With the new components, sonoro is also introducing its own multiroom solution. Networking is handled via LAN within a closed audio-over-IP system. According to the manufacturer, multiple devices can be operated in sync without having to rely on cloud services. Common streaming standards such as Apple AirPlay, Spotify Connect and internet radio are supported; additional services are planned.
Focus on professional installation
A key feature is the focus on professional use. STREAMER and AMPLIFIER can also be set up without an internet connection or cloud account. Two devices at a time can be mounted flush in a 19-inch rack tray. The integrated 4-inch display shows freely assignable room names during operation or in standby, which is intended to make it easier to keep track, especially in complex multiroom installations.
In addition, the devices are compatible with common smart home systems, including Busch-free@home as well as KNX-based solutions such as JUNG Smart Visu Server or Gira HomeServer. This allows control via wall switches, touch panels or automated scenarios.
Operation, pricing and availability
Operation is possible either directly on the device, via remote control, through the sonoro app, or integrated into the smart home. Across sources, up to 99 favourites can be saved.
The sonoro STREAMER (217 × 217 × 80 mm, 1.5 kg) is expected to be available from Q3 2026 at an RRP of €999.
The sonoro AMPLIFIER (217 × 217 × 80 mm, approx. 2.8 kg) is also planned for Q3 2026, with an RRP of €1,499. Both devices will initially be released in black/black via specialist retailers and directly from sonoro.
