Axel Grell, the renowned headphone designer – he used to work for Sennheiser – presents his latest masterpiece, the Open Around Ear 1 signature (OAE1 signature). This limited edition model, of which only 1,000 will be available, promises an exceptional listening experience thanks to its innovative design and high-quality components. The OAE1 signature from Grell Audio combines intelligent design with precise mechanics to open up perfect sound worlds for music lovers.
The special feature of Grell’s latest headphones is the unique positioning of the biocellulose membranes, which are not next to the ears but in front of them. This orientation simulates a sound source located in front of the user, which is the ideal position for stereo reproduction and is preferred in professional recording studios. This innovative arrangement enables a natural and precise sound reproduction that does justice to the individual anatomy of each ear.
A different acoustic approach
The Grell OAE1 signature not only impresses with its acoustic concept, but also with its open design with a stainless steel mesh that ensures natural diffusion of the sound. The built-in grell technologies allow users to perceive sounds according to their individual ear geometry, resulting in an outstanding listening experience. The headphones also offer maximum comfort thanks to their ergonomic fit and replaceable pads.
Debut at the HIGH END 2024 in Munich
Interested parties will have the opportunity to experience the Grell OAE1 signature in person at the Grell stand (Hall 1, Stand A06) during the High End, an internationally renowned audio trade fair taking place in Munich from May 9 to 12. In addition, Grell will be giving away a copy of the OAE1 signature to trade fair visitors every day.
The headphones will be available from May at a price of 499 euros via sales partner Drop. Given the strict limitation to just 1,000 units, the OAE1 signature is likely to quickly become a coveted item for audiophiles and collectors.
