TAD is adding color to the Evolution series: The TAD-E2 “Evolution Two” floorstanding speaker will now also be available in Piano Black, Arctic White, and Scandinavian Blue. The three new finishes are scheduled to arrive in specialty stores starting in December 2026. The existing model with a satin-matte walnut finish will remain in the lineup.
A Trio of Colors
With these additional finishes, TAD is expanding its selection to suit a variety of living and listening environments. Piano Black and Arctic White feature a high-gloss finish, while Scandinavian Blue adds a shade of blue to the palette. The paint layers are applied using a spray process and then carefully sanded. According to the manufacturer, the coating also contributes to the cabinet’s rigidity and helps dampen unwanted vibrations.
Beryllium Meets Aramid
The TAD-E2 is a passive bass-reflex speaker featuring a 2.5-way system. A tweeter with a 25-millimeter beryllium diaphragm works in conjunction with two 15.5-centimeter cone speakers. Their MACC cones combine aramid fabric on the front with a rear layer of softwood pulp. A die-cast aluminum waveguide controls the tweeter’s dispersion characteristics.

The crossover frequencies are 90 hertz and 2.8 kilohertz. TAD specifies a frequency response range of 30 hertz to 60 kilohertz, a sensitivity of 87 dB at 2.83 volts at a distance of one meter, and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms.
For the cabinet, TAD combines MDF panels with birch plywood braces. The bass-reflex port on the bottom opens toward the front and rear. Its horn-shaped interior contour is designed to reduce airflow noise. A 10-millimeter-thick steel base plate with three spikes forms the foundation. Without the spikes, each speaker measures 32 × 108.5 × 40.5 centimeters (W × H × D) and weighs 32 kilograms.
Availability of the new TAD-E2
Starting in December 2026, Arctic White ( TAD-E2-GW), Piano Black (TAD-E2-K), and Scandinavian Blue (TAD-E2-SB) will be available. The walnut version will continue to be designated TAD-E2-WN. TAD has not yet announced prices for the new color options in its latest press release.
