Sonos today announced the launch of its first headphones, the Sonos Ace. With exceptional wearing comfort and high-quality hi-fi sound, the Sonos Ace is designed to deliver a groundbreaking home theater experience.

The innovative Sonos Ace offers stunning, lossless 3D audio, active noise cancellation (ANC) and an Aware mode. With Sonos’ new TrueCinema technology, the wireless speaker is also designed to create a precise and immersive home theater experience. The over-ear headphones with wireless Bluetooth connection will be available worldwide from June 5, 2024 in black and soft white for 500 euros.

“Fans have been asking us to extend the Sonos Experience to headphones for years – and we knew that in our first foray into the category, we had to deliver the kind of innovation and sound that Sonos is known for,” said Patrick Spence, CEO of Sonos. “With the Sonos Ace, we’ve taken our two decades of leadership in delivering stunning sound, elegant design and exceptional convenience to the world’s largest and most popular audio category.”

Sonos promises outstanding sound for an individual experience

The new over-ear should also be hi-fi compatible. The Sonos Ace’s two specially developed drivers reproduce every frequency with the highest precision and clarity, so that favorite songs, podcasts or phone calls can be experienced even more intensely.

The new headphones from the US streaming specialist are also ideal for night-time home cinema enjoyment: The Sonos Ace is designed to provide a thrilling surround sound experience without disturbing other people in the household. TV sound can be switched from a compatible Sonos soundbar to the Sonos Ace at the touch of a button. 3D audio with Dolby Atmos envelops listeners with detailed sound from all directions, and dynamic head tracking makes you feel like you’re part of the action, even if you leave the room. Available later this year, TrueCinema technology precisely analyzes the environment and provides complete surround sound for a realistic experience.

“The Sonos Ace embodies our ambition to create a moving sound experience that corresponds to the moment in which we live,” explains Maxime Bouvat-Merlin, Chief Product Officer at Sonos. “True to Sonos’ tradition as a premium product manufacturer, every detail of the Sonos Ace has been specially crafted, professionally engineered and perfectly tuned by world-leading sound experts to deliver unparalleled sound.”

Elegant design and exceptional comfort

The Sonos Ace should sound as good as it looks. The slim design combines metal elements with an elegant, matt finish and suits any style. The headphones are made of lightweight premium materials and fit gently to the head. The ear pads made of soft foam and vegan imitation leather ensure maximum wearing comfort and excellent acoustic sealing. Contrasting colors on the inside of the earcups make them easier to put on, and practical buttons enable intuitive control. When the Sonos Ace is not in use, it can be folded flat and stored in its lightweight case.

According to Sonos, the headphones are durable and designed for everyday use. With replaceable ear pads and recyclable materials, Sonos uses 17% less virgin plastic. The cover is made of 75% recycled felt from plastic bottles. Wear detection interrupts music playback when the headphones are removed to minimize battery consumption.
