Sharp continues to party. After the two Bluetooth speakers we reviewed, the Sharp XParty Street Beat and the Sharp PS-921, the Japanese consumer electronics giant is launching two high-performance speakers onto the market at the end of the year with the new SumoBox series, which have been specially developed for parties and performances. The product family includes the more compact Sharp SumoBox (CP-LS100) and the more powerful SumoBox Pro (CP-LS200). Both models offer powerful sound, flexible connection options and replaceable lithium-ion batteries for hours of music enjoyment.
The SumoBox CP-LS100 proves to be a true powerhouse in a portable design. Equipped with two 8-inch woofers and two 2-inch tweeters, it achieves up to 105 dB sound pressure and delivers a 120 watt (RMS) one-box stereo system with a battery life of around ten hours. Thanks to the collaboration with the French audio brand Devialet and its SAM (Speaker Active Matching) technology, it delivers voluminous, detailed bass. Should the battery ever run low, the rechargeable 14.8V 5Ah battery can be replaced in just a few seconds. The SumoBox has three input channels – TRS/CLR combo (2x), Aux and Bluetooth (5.0) – allowing flexible connections to instruments, smartphones and more. An instrument balance control ensures that both rocking guitar riffs and soulful keyboard ballads are perfectly staged.
Want more power?
For even more power, Sharp offers the SumoBox Pro (CP-LS200). According to the manufacturer, this 200 W (RMS) system achieves 108 dB and integrates two 10-inch woofers plus two 3-inch tweeters. Devialet’s SAM is also used here, supplemented by the same connection options and an instrument balance control. The SumoBox Pro lasts for eight hours and is waterproof thanks to IPX4 certificationsplash-proof – ideal for parties at the beach or pool.
Both versions can be connected wirelessly via Duo Mode to form a true wireless stereo formation. Alternatively, a wired connection of two speakers is also possible. For optimum placement, both SumoBox speakers use compatible standard speaker stands (35 mm). So nothing stands in the way of an exuberant party.
