With the ATRON, sonoro is expanding its new generation of connected music systems with a particularly compact model. Despite being only 14.8 centimeters wide, this two-way stereo system is designed to fill even larger rooms with a wide soundstage and powerful bass. To achieve this, the manufacturer relies, among other things, on upward-firing midrange-tweeter drivers, a specially developed acoustic lens, and automatic adjustment to the listening environment.
Small size with big sound
Measuring 14.8 × 12 × 20.4 centimeters, the sonoro ATRON takes up barely more space than a larger bookshelf speaker. It weighs about 1.5 kilograms. In terms of design, the smallest all-in-one music system in the new sonoro generation is inspired by the MEISTERSTÜCK and AVATON. The seemingly floating front panel is covered in fabric and is available in the color combinations Anthracite-Black, Pearl Gray-Silver, and Sand-Cream.
The unique acoustic design is intended to extract the widest possible soundstage from the small enclosure. To achieve this, the upward-firing mid-tweeters work in conjunction with a specially developed acoustic lens that disperses sound widely throughout the room. Digital dispersion correction is designed to ensure a soundstage that remains as consistent as possible. However, the 3D sound promised by sonoro should not be confused with an object-based surround sound format: what is meant here is a particularly wide spatial presentation from a single enclosure.

Two woofers and intelligent bass management
Two built-in 3-inch woofers and a 4-inch passive radiator provide the bass foundation. Intelligent DSP bass management is designed to adjust the bass response to the current volume level and ensure sufficient depth even at low volumes.
While compact music systems tend to produce a boomy sound when placed close to walls or in corners, the ATRON’s Placement EQ is designed to counteract this. The sound adjustment takes the placement into account and optimizes playback for free-standing placement, placement on a shelf, or placement near walls and corners.
Streaming with AirPlay, Auracast, and three Connect services
You can control the device using the buttons on the unit, the included remote control, and the sonoro app. A 4-inch color display shows information about the source, the current track, and settings. The app also lets you manage all compatible sonoro systems and group them into multiroom zones.
For music playback, the ATRON supports Apple AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Tidal Connect. It also features Bluetooth LE Audio and is ready for Auracast. This will allow an audio signal to be transmitted to multiple compatible receivers simultaneously in the future.
Integration into a smart home is also planned. The ATRON is compatible with solutions from Busch-Jaeger as well as the KNX-based systems from Gira and Jung.
Multiroom Uses Wired Connections
For its own multiroom technology, sonoro relies on a wired Audio-over-IP solution within the local network. Up to 32 compatible music systems can be operated individually, together, or in different zones. The actual number, however, depends on the existing network infrastructure.
The advantage of wired signal distribution lies in a stable connection with minimal latency. The ATRON can be combined with other devices from the new sonoro generation to create a whole-house audio system.
The sonoro ATRON is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026 for 399 euros. It will be available through the sonoro online store and at specialty retailers.
