Bang & Olufsen celebrates 100 years with the Beolab 90 Titan Edition

100 years of perfection in aluminum with a titanium touch

To mark its 100th anniversary, Bang & Olufsen is presenting a spectacular new edition of its acoustic flagship: the Beolab 90 Titan Edition. Ten years after the original release of the Beolab 90, this special limited edition shows how closely craftsmanship, engineering and design philosophy are intertwined at the Danish luxury brand.

“Innovation and design have been at the heart of Bang & Olufsen for 100 years. The Titan Edition is not only a tribute to our legacy, but an expression of craftsmanship excellence and technical vision,” says Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen.

A tribute to the art of sound and material perfection

The Beolab 90 Titan Edition was created in the exclusive Bang & Olufsen studio and is far more than just an aesthetic update. The special edition deliberately dispenses with classic speaker covers and presents its interior in a raw industrial look – a symbol of sound in its purest form.

The 65-kilogram aluminum housing is made from a solid block and sandblasted by hand with particles of volcanic rock. This creates a unique, matt surface whose texture combines strength and elegance. Polished plinth panels make the speaker appear to float above the floor, while finely engraved fittings and aluminum rings around each driver emphasize the contrast between rough structure and precise lines.

Even the smallest details – from laser engravings for the 100th anniversary to individually designed fastening elements with translucent openings – show the effort Bang & Olufsen put into producing its anniversary edition.

Technical excellence: the Beolab 90 should remain the benchmark

Since its launch in 2015, the original Beolab 90 has been considered one of the most technologically advanced speakers in the world. With 18 individually controlled drivers, intelligent DSP control and beam-forming technology, it produces either precise sweet spot imaging or full 360-degree surround sound.

The Titan Edition adopts this architecture and takes it to a new level of aesthetic and material perfection. The speaker offers the same outstanding dynamics, control and transparency that characterized the DNA of the later Beolab 50, Beolab 28 and Beosound Theatre models.

First of five anniversary masterpieces

The Beolab 90 Titanium Edition is the first of five limited edition studio masterpieces that Bang & Olufsen is presenting to mark its 100th anniversary. Each edition reinterprets the iconic design in a new way and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Further special editions are to follow in the coming months and will continue the anniversary with a different focus on craftsmanship.

A century of Bang & Olufsen

Since it was founded by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen in 1925, the brand has stood for the combination of technical innovation, sound culture and design aesthetics. The Beolab 90 Titan Edition brings these values to the fore in a unique symbiosis – as an acoustic work of art that unites tradition and future in one sculpture. To mark their 100th anniversary, the Danes are bursting with creativity, as recently revealed in the first sound test of the Beo Grace in-ear headphones.
