Revox has as much of a Swiss connection as one of the most legendary rock songs of all time. What many don’t know: Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water actually tells a real story from Lake Geneva. The famous line “Smoke on the water” describes the smoke from a casino fire in Montreux, which the band observed in 1971 during the recording of Machine Head. More than five decades later, Swiss audio tradition and rock history meet again.
With an extraordinary special edition, Revox and Deep Purple are opening a new chapter between high-end audio and legendary rock music. Together, both brands present a strictly limited product series centered around the new Deep Purple album SPLAT!, scheduled for release on July 3, 2026. The focus is on three exclusive products: the Revox B77 MK III Deep Purple Limited Edition, the Revox T77 Turntable Deep Purple Limited Edition, and the Revox Studiomaster A200 Deep Purple Limited Edition active speaker.

Analog Cult Meets Rock Legends
The cooperation pursues a clear goal: Deep Purple’s music should be experienced at home as precisely as it was originally recorded in the studio. Revox relies on its decades of experience in analog audio technology and combines this with the charisma of one of the most influential rock bands ever.
Visually, the devices are based on the artwork of the new album SPLAT! and feature specially designed tape reels, band member signatures, and an elaborately implemented special look.

The Return of an Icon: B77 MK III
The Deep Purple version of the legendary B77 MK III is likely to be particularly spectacular for many analog fans. The tape machine is still considered an icon of analog audio technology and is experiencing a renaissance in the high-end sector with the current generation.
Only 25 units will be produced worldwide for this collaboration. Each machine will be hand-signed by Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey, and Simon McBride. The B77 MK III is manufactured at the Revox factory in Villingen-Schwenningen.
Technically, Revox goes even a step further: for the first time, the limited edition receives an electronic braking function in addition to the mechanical brake. Both systems work in parallel and are designed to enable particularly precise maneuvering and safe stopping of the tape. At the same time, the safety of analog mechanics is maintained, even in the event of a power failure or electronic problems.
The scope of delivery also includes an exclusive master tape of the new album SPLAT! in audiophile quality.

T77: Vinyl in its most exclusive form
The Revox T77 turntable also appears as a Deep Purple Limited Edition. A total of 50 units will be produced, also hand-signed by the complete band. The T77 aims to combine classic Revox virtues such as precision, high-quality craftsmanship, and analog sound quality with a striking special look.
Particularly exciting for vinyl enthusiasts: the package includes a so-called “Master Record” of the album SPLAT!. According to Revox, this should deliver an even more detailed sound than conventional records.
Active Speakers in Deep Purple Look
The series is completed by the Studiomaster A200 in a special Deep Purple version. Revox plans a total of 200 units here. The active speaker can be used as a standalone device or in stereo or multiroom operation and supports WLAN, LAN, Bluetooth, and Apple AirPlay 2.
Battery operation with up to twelve hours of runtime is also possible. Operation is directly on the device or via the Revox app.
Analog Sound as a Statement
The cooperation between Revox and Deep Purple deliberately focuses on authenticity and the appeal of analog playback. The new album SPLAT!, with its live-in-the-studio production, is expected to particularly benefit from tape and vinyl.
The album was produced by Bob Ezrin, who has previously worked with artists such as Pink Floyd, Kiss, and Lou Reed. Musically, Revox and Deep Purple describe the work as one of the band’s hardest and most direct albums in decades.
Unveiling at High End 2026
The complete Deep Purple Limited Edition will be publicly shown for the first time at HIGH END 2026 in Vienna from June 4 to 7, 2026. A dedicated microsite from Revox will be launched alongside it.
Between Collector’s Item and High-End Statement
With the Deep Purple Limited Edition, Revox targets not only classic audiophiles but also collectors and music lovers who understand analog playback as an experience. The small number of units, the hand signatures, and the combination of music history and manufacturing technology make the series far more than a classic special edition.
