In 2026, Pure will look back on 25 years of brand history—and is celebrating the anniversary with two new radios that deliberately draw inspiration from the past. The compact Pure Evoke One and the larger all-in-one music system Pure Evoke Home II make up the new Heritage line. Real wood, metal knobs, and touch-sensitive controls combine with DAB+, internet radio, podcasts, and Bluetooth 5.3.
This means Pure isn’t just offering a new color for familiar devices. The choice of materials that lend a cozy feel and the redesigned control concept give the Evoke series a distinctive look. Still, it’s worth taking a closer look at the features—especially on the Evoke Home II.
25 Years of Pure, Almost 25 Years of Evoke
The anniversary story requires a bit of clarification. The Pure brand debuted in 2001 with the DRX-601EX portable digital radio. The more affordable Evoke-1 followed in 2002 and became a key pioneer for DAB in the UK. Pure will therefore rightly celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2026; the first Evoke model won’t turn a quarter-century old until 2027.
The new devices capture that cozy feel without simply copying a retro radio. Pure features genuine wood cabinets in birch, walnut, and black finishes. A metal knob adds a classic tactile element, while touch buttons bridge the gap to the present. A 2.4-inch TFT color display shows station information and—if available—visual content.
Pure Evoke One: 40 watts in a compact mono radio
The Pure Evoke One is the smaller of the two anniversary models. According to the manufacturer, its 2-way mono speaker system delivers 40 watts. Consequently, you shouldn’t expect true stereo sound from this single unit; however, it takes up little space and should be particularly well-suited for the kitchen, home office, or bedroom.
The Evoke One offers a wide range of audio sources. It receives internet radio and podcasts via Wi-Fi, as well as DAB+ and FM. Music from a smartphone can be streamed to the radio via Bluetooth 5.3. An analog AUX input and USB-C port round out the wireless options.
Up to 150 favorites from Internet, DAB+, and FM radio can be saved in a single list. Dual alarms, a sleep timer, and a kitchen timer also make the Evoke One a useful companion for your daily routine. According to Pure, a remote control is also included.
Pure Evoke Home II: Stereo, CD, and More Depth
With its wider enclosure, the Pure Evoke Home II is designed for the living room. It combines two 2.25-inch balanced-mode drivers with two 3.5-inch woofers and a rear-mounted passive radiator. The digital amplifiers deliver a combined 80 watts. This means the music system actually operates in stereo—though, naturally, the close proximity of the two channels means it cannot replace a traditional system with spatially separated speakers.
In addition to Internet radio, podcasts, DAB+, FM, and Bluetooth 5.3, the Home II features a slot-in CD drive. AUX and USB-C ports are also included; according to the manufacturer, local music files can be played via USB. The 2.4-inch display, 150 combined station presets, timer functions, touchscreen controls, and remote control are largely identical to those of the smaller Evoke One.
Not a classic upgrade in every respect
The “2” in the name shouldn’t automatically be equated with more power and more streaming features. Pure lists 100 watts and specifically mentions Spotify Connect for the previous Evoke Home, whereas the new Evoke Home II is rated at 80 watts. Spotify Connect, AirPlay, or Chromecast do not appear in the recently published list of features for the successor model.
That doesn’t mean such services are generally left out: You can stream them from your smartphone via Bluetooth. However, direct integration into your home network is more convenient and less dependent on your mobile device. If this is important to you, you should check before purchasing whether Pure plans to add these features or simply hasn’t listed them in the initial documentation. The wattage alone, on the other hand, does not provide a reliable indication of sound quality.
The Home II clearly focuses on its new real-wood cabinet, redesigned controls, and a classic range of input sources, including CD. With this model, Pure is targeting listeners who are looking for a complete system suitable for the living room and who don’t view streaming as the only way to play music.
Pricing and Availability
Pure offers the Evoke One for 250 euros and the Evoke Home II for 400 euros. Both models are now available in birch, walnut, and black.
To celebrate this anniversary, Pure is also pairing the purchase of a radio with an unusually analog bonus: According to the manufacturer, anyone who purchases a Pure radio priced at 50 euros or more by October 31, 2026, and registers the receipt on the promotional page will receive a 39-euro Bloom & Wild gift certificate for a bouquet of flowers. So with its new duo, Pure isn’t simply revisiting the past. The Evoke One and Evoke Home II reinterpret the original radio concept as a modern home product—featuring real wood, the latest wireless technology, and, in the case of the Home II, even a slot for the good old CD.
