CD collections, favorite radio stations, and music from your smartphone: Even today, a classic compact stereo system can still serve as a musical hub. Panasonic is expanding its lineup with the SC-PMX112 and SC-PM302 micro hi-fi systems. Both combine a compact main unit with two separate speakers and feature a CD player, USB playback, Bluetooth, and DAB+ and FM radio. The larger SC-PMX112 also provides access to Internet radio and Spotify Connect via Wi-Fi. Prices start at 129 euros.
Panasonic SC-PMX112: Two-way sound and multiple sources
For the SC-PMX112, Panasonic has opted for two-way speakers with 13-cm drivers and separate tweeters. The speakers feature wooden cabinets with bass reflex ports, removable grilles, and detachable speaker cables. The manufacturer lists the system’s total power output at 180 watts. Five preset equalizer modes allow users to customize the sound to their personal preferences.
Dual-band Wi-Fi is available for connecting to your home network. The system also receives Internet radio and music via Spotify Connect. If you prefer to stream directly from your smartphone or tablet, you can use Bluetooth. It also features a CD player, DAB+ and FM reception, and USB media playback.
External devices can also be connected: For example, the optical digital input accepts audio from a compatible TV. For analog sources, there is a 3.5-mm line input. The USB-A port is used for both music playback and charging. A headphone output and a separate subwoofer output round out the features.

Panasonic SC-PM302: Compact Entry-Level System with CD and DAB+
The smaller Panasonic SC-PM302 is designed for music lovers looking for a space-saving stereo system for the kitchen, bedroom, or home office. Each of its two speakers features a 10-cm full-range driver housed in a wooden enclosure. Panasonic specifies the total power output as 60 watts RMS.
Source options include CD, USB, Bluetooth, DAB+, and FM. Wi-Fi features—including Internet radio and Spotify Connect—are reserved for the larger SC-PMX112. The SC-PM302 also offers five equalizer presets for fine-tuning the sound.
Color Displays and Remote Controls
Both micro hi-fi systems feature TFT color displays. The SC-PMX112 has a 2.8-inch screen, while the SC-PM302 has a 2.4-inch screen. Included remote controls and menu navigation in 17 languages are designed to make operation easier.
The SC-PMX112 also offers clock, alarm, and sleep functions. This allows the system to wake you up in the morning with your favorite station or stop playback in the evening after a set time.

According to the manufacturer, the two Panasonic compact systems are available now. The suggested retail price is 299 euros for the SC-PMX112 and 129 euros for the SC-PM302.
