Marshall is rounding out its Jimi Hendrix collection for the 60th anniversary with three more special-edition models. The Major V on-ear headphones, the Emberton III portable Bluetooth speaker, and the JMH Studio guitar amplifier all feature a psychedelic design in black and purple.
Few connections between a musician and their equipment are as legendary as the one between Jimi Hendrix and Marshall. Sixty years ago, the exceptional guitarist plugged his guitar into an amplifier from the British brand for the first time. Marshall has already paid tribute to the resulting sound with several anniversary models. Three new special editions round out the anniversary collection.
In his designs, Marshall draws inspiration from Hendrix’s fascination with space, bold colors, and psychedelic imagery. A black-and-purple pattern reminiscent of oil paints floating on water runs throughout the entire collection. This is complemented by silver accents and the recurring symbol of an all-seeing eye.
“Purple Haze” for Major V and Emberton III

On the Marshall Major V, the purple pattern appears on the inside of the headband and the ear cups. The all-seeing eye complements the otherwise mostly black on-ear headphones. Technically, Marshall continues to rely on its well-known signature sound, a robust, foldable design, and a battery life that, according to the manufacturer, should last for several days of music enjoyment.
The Jimi Hendrix edition of the Emberton III is even more eye-catching. The psychedelic pattern extends across the case and extends beyond the front grille. The control knob features a silver eye, and purple LEDs echo the edition’s color scheme.
The silicone case of each Emberton III is custom-designed using a water transfer printing process. This ensures that no two units look exactly alike. According to Marshall, the portable Bluetooth speaker plays for more than a full day on a single battery charge.
Marshall does not mention any technical changes compared to the standard versions of the Major V and Emberton III. The focus of these special editions is therefore primarily on the Hendrix design.

JMH Studio: The Hendrix Sound from Bletchley
The third and most expensive model in the collection is designed specifically for guitarists. The JMH Studio is a reinterpretation of the Marshall Studio Vintage and is handcrafted at the factory in Bletchley, England.
The compact amplifier is designed to cover a wide range of tones, from clear sounds and blues textures to the harmonically rich, punchy Marshall tone. Marshall uses high-quality plywood and black Tolex for the cabinet. The psychedelic pattern appears on the front panel and control panel, complemented by a purple indicator light.
Silver trim on the controls, the handle, the logo, the grille, and the back panel contrasts with the dark cabinet. The all-seeing eye appears on both the top and bottom of the amplifier stack.
The JMH Studio marks the culmination of Marshall’s anniversary collection. It serves as a reminder of how closely Hendrix’s sound was tied to the British brand’s amplifiers—and how profoundly this combination influenced the evolution of the rock sound.
