A replaceable battery isn’t a given, even in significantly more expensive Bluetooth speakers. The new Hama Tube X offers this sustainability perk despite a price of just 19.99 euros. It also offers twelve hours of playtime, an AUX input, and the ability to pair two units to create a stereo pair.
Measuring 13.5 centimeters in height and with a base area of six by six centimeters, the Hama Tube X truly lives up to its name. This Bluetooth speaker, which stands upright, weighs just 226 grams, making it ideal for use on a desk as well as for trips or vacations.
A durable black fabric cover protects the case, while a rubberized coating on the bottom is designed to ensure a secure footing. However, Hama does not specify an officially rated IP protection class. The outdoor use advertised by Hama should therefore not be confused with water resistance or weather resistance.
A Small Tube with Endurance
Inside, there’s a single speaker with a music output of 3.5 watts. Naturally, that’s not enough for a garden party at full volume, but it should be sufficient for some background music at work, on the patio, or during a picnic.
Signals are transmitted via Bluetooth 5.3, with a range of up to ten meters as specified by the manufacturer. If you want to connect an older or non-Bluetooth-enabled device, you can use the analog AUX input with a 3.5-mm jack.
In addition, the Tube X has a built-in microphone. This allows the small speaker to be used as a hands-free device for phone calls, and Hama promises HD-quality voice transmission.
Two Tube X units make up a stereo pair
By design, a single Hama Tube X operates in mono. However, using TWS (True Wireless Stereo), two units can be paired wirelessly. One of the two speakers then handles the left stereo channel, while the other handles the right.
Given the unit price of just under 20 euros, even a stereo set like this is extremely affordable. Because the two speakers are set up separately, they should also produce a significantly wider soundstage than a single compact Bluetooth speaker.
Twelve hours of music with a replaceable battery
The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 1,300 mAh, or 4.81 Wh. This should allow the Tube X to achieve up to twelve hours of playback via Bluetooth. An LED indicator shows the current charge level, and the device is charged via USB-C.
One particularly nice feature is the ability to replace the battery when its capacity starts to decline. This means you don’t have to dispose of the entire speaker just because the battery wears out after a few years. A power adapter is not included; you’ll need a standard 5-watt USB power adapter.
Price and availability
The Hama Tube X costs 19.99 euros and, according to Hama’s product page, is already available. At IFA 2026, which takes place September 4–8 in Berlin, Hama will showcase its new products in Hall 4.2 at Booth 147.
