British hi-fi manufacturer Cambridge Audio has unveiled the successor to its first wireless noise-canceling headphones P100(click here for our review): the Melomania P100SE. According to the manufacturer, the new model boasts improved wearing comfort, revised sound tuning and a battery life of up to 100 hours.

Improvements in sound and ergonomics

The Melomania P100SE is based on the predecessor model P100, but uses new digital sound technology: the so-called DynamEQ function is intended to ensure consistently high sound dynamics even at low volumes. The 40 mm drivers with sandwich diaphragm and neodymium magnet remain at the heart of the system – combined with a Class A/B amplifier which, according to Cambridge Audio, should deliver a natural sound.

The headband has been designed in response to user feedback. A new padding and modified suspension should ensure that the over-ear headphones sit comfortably even during long listening sessions or when moving, while guaranteeing constant noise suppression.

Up to 100 hours of battery life

According to the manufacturer, the battery life is up to 60 hours with active noise canceling and 100 hours without ANC. Thanks to the quick-charging function, five minutes of charging is enough for up to four hours of playback. This makes the P100SE particularly interesting for frequent users and travelers.

Sustainable design: replaceable battery and ear pads

Cambridge Audio emphasizes that it has focused on longevity during development. The battery and ear pads can be replaced by the user and are available as spare parts. This could make the P100SE a more sustainable alternative in the Bluetooth headphone market.

Technical features

The headphones support Bluetooth 5.3 and, in addition to AAC, also offer aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive – with a maximum resolution of 96 kHz at 24 bit. Alternatively, the P100SE can also be used wired via USB-C or with a 3.5 mm jack adapter.

In the associated Melomania Connect app, sound profiles can be individually adjusted using the seven-band equalizer. Six presets for different music genres are pre-installed and custom profiles can be saved. There is also a gaming mode for reduced latency in video and games.

Availability and price

The Cambridge Audio Melomania P100SE will be available from August 1, 2025 in blue, matt white and black – both from specialist retailers and in the manufacturer’s webshop. The recommended retail price is 279 euros.
