FiiO is expanding its headphone lineup with a particularly competitively priced model. The new FiiO EH13 combines active noise cancellation, Hi-Res Bluetooth with LDAC, multipoint connectivity, and an impressive battery life of up to 75 hours. All of this is available for just 49 euros.
With this move, the Chinese audio specialist is positioning itself in the highly competitive entry-level segment and promises to pack many of the features found in significantly more expensive models into an affordable pair of over-ear headphones.
Hi-Res Audio with LDAC
Inside the EH13 are 40-millimeter dynamic drivers that support the high-resolution Bluetooth codec LDAC. With data rates of up to 990 kbit/s, the codec is designed to deliver audibly better sound quality and an extended frequency response. It also supports the standard AAC and SBC codecs, making the headphones compatible with virtually all smartphones and tablets.
The frequency response is specified as 20 Hz to 40 kHz, which means the EH13 meets the requirements for Hi-Res Audio certification.

Hybrid ANC with three modes
The EH13 also proves surprisingly versatile when it comes to noise cancellation. FiiO relies on an intelligent hybrid active noise-canceling system with three different intensity levels. The Low mode is intended for use on the street, Medium is designed for office environments, and High is specifically tailored for air and rail travel.
Five built-in microphones are available for phone calls and video conferences. Combined with electronic noise cancellation (ENC), they are designed to effectively filter out ambient noise and improve speech intelligibility.
Up to 75 hours of runtime
The battery life is particularly impressive. With noise cancellation turned off, FiiO promises up to 75 hours of music playback on a single charge. Even with ANC enabled, the headphones are said to still deliver an impressive 45 hours of battery life. A full charge takes about two hours.
As a result, the EH13 significantly outperforms many competitors in its price range and is particularly recommended for frequent travelers and commuters.
Cable Operation and Multipoint
In addition to Bluetooth, the EH13 also supports traditional wired use. The 3.5-mm jack allows the headphones to be connected directly to game consoles or the in-flight entertainment system on an airplane. DSP compensation is designed to ensure that the sound quality differs as little as possible between wired and wireless playback.
The multipoint feature is also handy for everyday use. The headphones can stay connected to two devices at the same time—for example, a smartphone and a laptop. This allows you to answer incoming calls directly without having to disconnect from the computer.
App with extensive sound options
Using the FiiO Control app for iOS and Android, users can choose from various EQ presets or create their own sound profile using a custom equalizer. Special profiles for movies and games are also available.

STEREO GUIDE says
