With the Evo One, Cambridge Audio showed at the end of 2024 that high-quality hi-fi systems don’t necessarily have to consist of multiple components, as our review also confirmed. The all-in-one system combines streaming, amplification, and speakers in a single enclosure and quickly became one of the most exciting alternatives for music lovers with an eye for design. Now the system is getting a new color option: alongside the existing walnut veneer, the Evo One will also be available in matte Midnight Black in the future.
The new version is aimed in particular at users who want to use the Evo One not only as a music system, but also as an elegant sound solution for the living room. Thanks to its understated black finish, the system blends more discreetly into modern living spaces and visually pairs especially well with TVs.
Design meets modern hi-fi
Despite its extensive feature set, the Evo One remains surprisingly compact. At just 13 centimeters tall, the system looks more like an elegant piece of furniture than a complete hi-fi system.
A real eye-catcher is the large 6.8-inch color display on the front. It can show album art, track information, VU meters, level meters, or a clock, giving the Evo One a modern high-end feel. You can control the system via the StreamMagic app for iOS and Android, the included remote control, or the buttons directly on the unit.
For individual sound tuning, a 7-band equalizer and various room-compensation settings are available to adapt the sound to the room and placement.

Streaming hub with HDMI and phono input
For streaming features, Cambridge Audio continues to rely on its fourth-generation StreamMagic platform. Supported services include Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Deezer, Amazon Music, Roon Ready, internet radio, and UPnP streaming. The Evo One handles hi-res audio up to 32-bit/192 kHz.
In addition, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Bluetooth are available. If you want to listen to music throughout the house, you can easily integrate the Evo One into multiroom systems from Apple, Google, or Roon.
The system is also unusually versatile when it comes to connections. Via HDMI eARC, you can connect a TV and conveniently control it with the TV remote. There’s also an MM phono input for turntables, an analog line input, an optical digital input, and a USB-A port for storage media.
14 speakers and 700 watts of power
Inside is an unusually sophisticated speaker concept for this device class. A total of 14 drivers are arranged in a three-way system with four tweeters, four midrange drivers, and six woofers.
The drivers are aimed not only forward but partly to the sides as well. This is intended to give the Evo One a significantly wider listening area than many classic Wi-Fi speakers, which often deliver their full performance only in the sweet spot.
With a total of 700 watts RMS amplifier power and six woofers in a sealed design, Cambridge Audio also promises deep, controlled bass that should go well beyond what you’d expect from an all-in-one system.
Prices and availability
The Cambridge Audio Evo One Midnight Black is expected to be available from specialist retailers starting in July 2026. The existing walnut version will remain in the lineup.
The recommended retail price for both versions is €1,499.
