With the new Evo 300, Cambridge Audio is presenting the most powerful streaming amp in the company’s history to date. Five years after the successful Evo 150, the British manufacturer is expanding its living-room-friendly all-in-one amp concept with significantly more power in reserve. With up to 2 x 550 watts into 4 ohms, the Evo 300 is aimed at music lovers who want to drive demanding speakers without giving up modern streaming, an HDMI connection, or elegant design.
Up to 550 watts per channel
At the heart of the Evo 300 is a new Class D power amp based on modern Hypex NCOREx modules. Cambridge Audio uses an elaborate dual-mono design with separate power supplies per channel and isolated circuit sections for D/A conversion, preamplification, and volume control.
Cambridge Audio rates the output at 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 550 watts per channel into 4 ohms. That puts the Evo 300 in a power class previously more typical of full-size power amps.
A high-quality analog volume control is designed to preserve dynamics, channel separation, and imaging even at low listening levels.
StreamMagic with Qobuz Connect and Spotify Lossless
Like all of the manufacturer’s current streaming products, the Evo 300 also uses the in-house StreamMagic platform.
A wide range of streaming services and protocols are supported, including Spotify Connect Lossless, Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, Roon Ready, UPnP, and internet radio. AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD and AAC are also included. Integration into Apple, Google, and Roon multiroom environments is also planned.
HDMI eARC and extensive connectivity
Unlike many classic high-end amplifiers, the Evo 300 is explicitly designed as the control hub for modern living-room systems.
It includes HDMI eARC for the TV, USB-B for computer audio, and optical and coaxial digital inputs. For analog sources, there are balanced XLR inputs, two RCA inputs, and an integrated MM phono stage for turntables.
An ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC is used for digital signal processing. It handles PCM signals up to 32-bit/768 kHz as well as DSD512.
Large color display and customizable look
Visually, Cambridge Audio stays true to the Evo concept. The aluminum chassis measures just 39 cm in width and around 9 cm in height.
A standout feature remains the large 7.8-inch color display on the front. It can show album art, track information, VU meters, or level meters, giving the amplifier a modern hi-fi look.
The side design panels can also be swapped. Users can choose between a classic real-wood look and a technical matte-black finish.
Also suitable for headphones and subwoofers
In addition to speakers, the Evo 300 also supports high-quality headphones via a 6.3 mm jack on the front.
There are also preamp outputs and an adjustable subwoofer output. It offers its own level and crossover controls and can optionally be combined with high-pass filtering for the main speakers.

The Cambridge Audio Evo 300 is expected to be available from specialist retailers from the end of June 2026.
