The Swedish hi-fi brand Audio Pro has unveiled its new W generation – a product family that, according to the company, not only marks a facelift but also a fundamental new start. In addition to a revised sound concept and a new design, the main focus is on app integration with WiiM technology. But what does the new generation really bring?
More control thanks to the WiiM app
At the heart of the W generation is a comprehensive change in software control. The new Audio Pro app, developed on the basis of the WiiM platform, should not only be more stable, but also more versatile. This includes:
- Completely revised user interface
- Extended EQ and room correction functions
- Support for additional streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz or Amazon Music
- Improved multiroom options
- Synchronized Wi-Fi timing
The manufacturer emphasizes that this marks the beginning of “a new era of multi-room listening”. Users will have to judge whether the app is actually more stable and intuitive than the previous version in everyday use – because the software in particular has not been free from criticism in the past. After all, all new models are backwards compatible and can be combined with older Audio Pro speakers.

New sound character
Audio Pro promises a significantly revised sound signature for the W generation. The speakers should play more dynamically and louder without losing clarity.
- For the flagship A48 W, the manufacturer claims up to +15 dB higher sound pressure and more precision thanks to optimized BMR tweeters.
- The A15 W should now deliver more powerful bass and a longer battery life.
- The frequency response of the smaller models such as the A10 MkII W and C5 MkII W has also been optimized.
It remains to be seen whether the promise of “hi-fi sound from compact all-in-one systems” will be fulfilled – precisely because this class of device traditionally balances between mobile suitability for everyday use and serious hi-fi.
Scandinavian redesign
In addition to the sound and software, Audio Pro has also standardized the design. The aim: a consistent visual line across the entire series. This means
- Coordinated fabric coverings and metal surfaces
- Standardized color palette, logo positions and control elements
- Optional new walnut finishes for individual models
The familiar, minimalist silhouettes remain, but the overall effect is one of higher quality and more living room-friendly. Subtle changes to details such as improved back plates or more handy control buttons show that Audio Pro attaches great importance to the look here – an important point in a market where design is now almost as important as the sound.
The models at a glance
The following W-generation devices will be available from September 5, 2025:
- Compact: A10 MkII W (£220 / 250 euros), A15 W (£350 / 400 euros).
- Mid-range: A28 W (£500 / 600 euros; also in walnut), A38 W (£700 / 800 euros).
- High-end: A48 W (£950 / 1,100 euros).
- Classic series: C5 MkII W (£250 / €300), C10 MkII W (£350 / €400), C20 W (£450 / €550).
- Drumfire series: Drumfire D-2 W (350 £ / 400 Euro), Drumfire II W (600 £ / 700 Euro)
- Audio Pro will provide US prices in October.
With the W generation, Audio Pro is not daring to make a radical break, but is focusing on cautious but important improvements: a more stable app, optimized sound and a coherent design. For existing customers, compatibility with older models is a clear plus. Practical tests will have to show whether the full-bodied sound promises actually deliver what they say they will. But one thing is already clear: The Swedes want to score points not only with sound, but also with ease of use and aesthetics – and thus secure their place in the hotly contested multi-room segment.
