Cambridge Audio, known for classic British hi-fi sound, presents its first wireless over-ear headphones with noise canceling: the Melomania P100. These headphones are designed to impress with first-class sound, an impressive battery life of up to 100 hours and a sustainable design concept.

High-end sound with modern comfort

Cambridge Audio had a clear goal: to create headphones suitable for everyday use with outstanding sound quality and noise-canceling. The Melomania P100 is equipped with 40 mm drivers that use a sandwich membrane made of polyurethane and polyether ether ketone (PEEK) – a material known for its stable and durable properties. A classic hi-fi amplifier with Class A/B circuitry ensures a transparent, clean and natural sound in all situations.

Music is transmitted via Bluetooth 5.3 in high resolution, with the codecs AAC and aptX Adaptive supporting up to 96kHz/24Bit. USB-C and a 3.5 mm jack adapter are available for wired operation. The ear cups are padded with memory foam and covered with vegan imitation leather to ensure a high level of comfort.

Individual sound made to measure

The Melomania P100 offers a seven-band equalizer via the Melomania Connect app, with which the sound can be individually adjusted. Six presets, tailored to different music genres, can be supplemented and saved with your own sound curves. The free app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and also offers a gaming mode with a reduced latency of just 80 ms for optimum synchronization of picture and sound.

Impressive battery performance and sustainability

The Melomania P100 offers a battery life of up to 60 hours with noise canceling activated and up to 100 hours without ANC. A quick-charging function enables up to 2 hours of playback with ANC or 4 hours without ANC after just 5 minutes of charging.

Sustainability was a top priority during development: The P100 is made from 50% recycled plastic and is supplied in 100% recyclable, plastic-free packaging. Both the battery and the ear pads can be replaced by the user to extend the life of the headphones.

James Johnson-Flint, owner of Cambridge Audio, emphasizes: “Our aim is to create a more sustainable product. As a founding member of EarthPercent, Brian Eno’s initiative that combines music and ecology, we are committed to this. The Melomania P100 stands for real hi-fi sound for everyone.”

Prices and availability

The Cambridge Audio Melomania P100 will be available from July 15, 2024 in satin white or classic black from the Cambridge Audio webshop and specialist retailers. The recommended retail price for Germany is 279.00 euros incl. VAT. Value added tax.
