Velodyne Acoustics at the ISE 2025:

Things you need for deep impact

From February 4 to 7, 2025, Velodyne Acoustics will be focusing on the world of subwoofers and presenting its latest portfolio at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in Barcelona. The specialist for low bass solutions has set up its stand in Hall 2 (number 2J405) and will be offering an exclusive first look at the brand new SPL-X series and other new products. Film fans, sound enthusiasts and trade visitors can not only experience the characteristic bass power of Velodyne Acoustics here, but also have their questions answered directly on site.

New benchmark in subwoofer technology: the SPL-X series

The centerpiece of the trade fair appearance is undoubtedly the SPL-X series, which is available in four different formats (10″, 12″, 15″ and 18″). These subwoofers are based on a further developed DSP platform, which is already familiar from the successful MiniVee X and SC1500 models, but has now been expanded to include additional functions. The design impresses with curved side panels and is reminiscent of the well-known “Digital Drive Plus” devices from Velodyne Acoustics. Maximum stability is ensured by wall thicknesses of 38 millimetres and intelligent bracing on the inside, which prevents unwanted resonances even at extreme levels.

To enable the subwoofers to develop their full potential, Velodyne Acoustics relies on load-stable amplifier modules with an output of between 1,000 watts RMS (SPL-X 10) and 1,800 watts RMS (SPL-X 18), depending on the model. For precise, deep and distortion-free bass, newly developed drivers with four-layer wound voice coils measuring 102 millimetres (76 millimetres for the SPL-X 10) are used. Several centering spiders and triple rear ventilation ensure that the drive units can handle high levels cleanly and consistently.

Flexible integration into the home theater and hi-fi setup

The SPL-X devices are also versatile when it comes to integration into existing systems: high-quality inputs and outputs are available in both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) versions. In addition, stable speaker terminals are available if the subwoofers are used in a setup without a dedicated preamp. With the Velodyne Acoustics AutoEQ app, the bass speakers can be conveniently controlled via smartphone and adjusted to personal preferences. The supplied microphone makes it possible to automatically measure the surround sound and optimize the frequency curve.

Home cinema professionals also benefit from the extended setting options, which allow the filter slopes or the subsonic cut to be precisely configured. The output level and delay times can also be individually adjusted. A night mode is also available, which limits the output if required and thus protects neighbors or roommates.

Further highlights at the stand
In addition to the SPL-X series, Velodyne Acoustics will also be presenting other innovations. The DSP-controlled SC1500 subwoofer amplifier with an output of 1,500 watts and 2-ohm stability will be demonstrating its capabilities at the stand. This device offers an excellent solution for passive subwoofers in larger rooms or home theater installations, as it combines high power reserves with an automatic calibration function and app control.

Those who prefer almost invisible bass integration should also take a closer look at the SC-IW600X and SC-IWDVR in-wall subwoofers. These models have been redesigned in terms of technology and driver concept to deliver even more powerful sound without being visually obtrusive.

Another trade fair highlight is the latest version of the Wi-Connect System II, a wireless audio transmission system that makes the placement of active subwoofers or active loudspeakers in the room particularly flexible. Wireless streaming enables a neat and space-saving installation that adapts effortlessly to different living situations.

For fans of unusual designs, Velodyne Acoustics is also presenting a special limited edition of the popular MiniVee X. In addition to the high-gloss white version, a model with a transparent acrylic glass housing will be presented, which shows off the high-quality technology inside to its full advantage.

Facts and figures on ISE 2025

Integrated Systems Europe takes place at the Fira Barcelona exhibition center, Gran Vía, Av. Joan Carles I, 64, 08908, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Velodyne Acoustics welcomes visitors in hall 2 at stand 2J405. The trade fair is open from February 4 to 6 from 10 am to 6 pm and on February 7 from 10 am to 4 pm. Whether home theater enthusiasts, professional integrators or technology fans – anyone looking for deep, precise bass is sure to get their money’s worth at Velodyne Acoustics.
