With the new Ambient Line, Nubert is expanding its electronics portfolio with a completely new generation of devices. At High End Vienna 2026, the Swabian manufacturer is showcasing four new components: the nuControl X-2 streaming preamp, the matching nuPower A-2 power amp, and the nuControl X-c and nuPower D-c compact models announced for the fall. Nubert combines modern streaming and DSP technology with a significantly higher-quality design that reinterprets classic HiFi virtues.
New design language for Nubert’s electronics
With the Ambient Line, Nubert is moving away from the previously more functional look of its electronic components. Black glass fronts meet brushed, silver-anodized aluminum. Added to this are matte rotary knobs and a striking base zone, intended to give the new devices a much more living-room-friendly and high-quality appearance.
Despite the new look, the operation remains deliberately straightforward. Clear lines and a design reduced to the essentials are intended to integrate the new electronics series both visually and functionally into modern living spaces.
nuControl X-2: Streaming preamp with high-end ambitions
The heart of the new series is the nuControl X-2 streaming preamp. According to Nubert, the digital signal processing supports resolutions up to DSD512 or 768 kHz at 32-bit. At the same time, the preamp offers extensive options for individual sound optimization.
These include a fully parametric 7-band equalizer as well as extensive delay settings for adaptation to the room, speakers, and personal listening preferences. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with aptX HD and aptX Low Latency, and integrated streaming functions make the nuControl X-2 the central hub of modern HiFi systems.
Also new is the completely redesigned user interface with German menus. Control is handled via touch display, remote control, or app.
nuPower A-2: Class AB power amp with VU meters
To match the preamp, Nubert is presenting the new nuPower A-2 power amp. Unlike many modern amplifiers, it relies on a hybrid design consisting of a switching power supply and classic Class AB amplification. Discrete MOSFET transistors are used, which are intended to combine high power reserves with precise signal processing.
The power amp can be used in both stereo and mono modes, making it suitable for classic stereo fans as well as users of larger HiFi or home theater installations. A particular highlight is the two large VU meters on the front, which deliberately evoke classic high-end components.

Compact models for stereo and home theater to follow in the fall
In addition to the immediately available full-size components, Nubert is already providing a glimpse of the second stage of the Ambient Line. The nuControl X-c and nuPower D-c are set to follow in the fall as significantly more compact models.
The nuControl X-c looks particularly exciting. The compact streaming preamp is not only intended for stereo applications but also supports multi-channel configurations up to 7.1.4, matching the standard speaker layout of modern Dolby Atmos systems. A large 6-inch touch display, individual presets, and extensive channel controls are also part of the features.
The matching nuPower D-c, on the other hand, relies on modern Class D technology and is intended to combine high efficiency with compact dimensions.
Prices and availability
The new Ambient Line components, nuControl X-2 and nuPower A-2, are expected to be available starting in calendar week 26.
Recommended retail prices:
- nuControl X-2: €4,490
