With the new Cayin RU3, the high-end specialist presents its most compact USB DAC and headphone amplifier to date. The elegant aluminum housing measures only 6 cm in length and 2.5 cm in width – and weighs just 24 grams. Despite its small dimensions, the RU3 contains state-of-the-art technology that is sure to impress even the most demanding audiophiles.

Finest digital technology in the smallest space

Inside, the latest generation ESS ES9069Q DAC with HyperStream IV dual architecture is at work. This allows the RU3 to process high-resolution formats up to PCM 768 kHz and DSD 512 in full resolution. The volume can be precisely controlled in 100 steps – ideal for sensitive in-ears as well as powerful over-ear headphones.

Versatile connection options

Thanks to the USB-C input, the Cayin RU3 works with almost any source device – whether smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac. The DAC works in both UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 mode and requires no driver installation. For analog output, 3.5 mm (unbalanced) and 4.4 mm (balanced, Pentaconn) outputs are available.
With an output power of up to 560 mW into 32 ohms in Hyper mode, the small amplifier provides sufficient power reserves even for demanding headphones.

App control and sound customization

The RU3’s integrated color display shows all relevant operating data, including input format, sampling rate and gain setting. Users can choose between two gain levels and five digital filters to vary the sound character.

All functions can be conveniently controlled via the Cayin app. Particularly exciting: a 10-band parametric equalizer that allows the playback to be precisely adjusted to personal listening habits – a feature that is rarely found in this price range.

Price and availability

The Cayin RU3 is now available from specialist retailers and in the Cayin online store. It is available in black, turquoise and purple. The recommended retail price is 149 Euro incl. VAT.
