Cayin, known for its uncompromisingly designed tube amplifiers, is launching the new N7+, a portable HiRes player that shows just how far the concept of mobile hi-fi can be taken today. The claim is clear: maximum sound fidelity, uncompromising technology and a design that also exudes high-end aesthetics.
Even the housing is serious: an aluminum-magnesium alloy with a sandblasted titanium surface not only gives the player an elegant finish, but also robustness and haptics at reference level. At the center is a razor-sharp 5-inch full HD touch display that relies on multi-touch, gesture control and resistant glass – not a toy, but a precise tool for connoisseurs.
Symmetry is everything – inside and out
Technically, Cayin does not take half a step with the N7+. The completely symmetrical, discrete circuit design extends from the D/A converters through to the fully symmetrical headphone amplifiers. Depending on preference or headphone selection, these can be operated in Class A or Class A/B mode – a choice between silky sonority and maximum dynamics.
It doesn’t matter whether you listen via the 3.5 mm jack or the 4.4 mm Pentaconn output: Both paths are uncompromisingly implemented and fully thought through. The volume is controlled via a separate circuit with 256 finely graduated levels of 0.5 dB each – operated via a precise metal rotary wheel that feels full and exact.

Versatility without loss of quality
The Cayin N7+ is not just a pure music player – it is a true multifunctional device. It plays local HiRes files up to PCM768 and DSD512, but can also be used as a streaming device – thanks to WiFi, Android 12.0, Play Store access and full compatibility with Qobuz, TIDAL, Apple Music & Co.
The player transmits high-resolution signals to external DACs or amplifiers with bit accuracy via USB-C or I²S. As a preamplifier with a variable output stage, it can also drive an entire system. If you want a purist approach, use the fixed line-out – everything is cleanly separated and of high quality.
Wireless freedom? No problem. The N7+ can also work in Bluetooth transmitter mode – for wireless connection of modern high-end headphones.
Consistently analog – at the highest level
Inside, Cayin works with a discrete push-pull Class A power amplifier in which JFETs in the driver stage control the bipolar output transistors with extremely low noise. The result: 330 mW in unbalanced mode and 690 mW in balanced mode – with minimal noise and maximum control.
Depending on the mode, the player sounds warm, open and rich in detail or powerful, fast and impulsive. No filter fiddling, no artificial sound cosmetics – just honest musicality, as you would otherwise only expect from stationary components.
Availability and price
The Cayin N7+ will be available from September 2025 via Cayin Distribution and authorized dealers. The price is 1,998.00 euros.
The Cayin N7+ promises to be more than just a portable player for mobile high-flyers who don’t want to compromise. It should be a tool, a statement.
