Canton updates the Vento series: More design, more precision plus solid craftsmanship

A breath of fresh air from the Taunus

With the new Vento series, Canton is bringing its long-standing loudspeaker line up to date. The models continue to represent the combination of design, sound, and build quality, but take a significant step forward in several areas. We were able to see this for ourselves beyond just the theory: during a visit to the company headquarters in Weilrod in the Taunus, we gained insights into the production of the new Vento series, which is handcrafted at the main plant.

Flowing forms and clear ambitions

It’s clear at first glance that Canton, under the leadership of Frank Göbl, has consistently evolved the series’ design. The characteristic bow shape has been refined, with the front and back gently rounded. This not only looks more elegant but also has acoustic advantages: edges are reduced, and dispersion is improved. High-quality finishes and magnetically attached covers ensure a clean, modern look that integrates well into various living spaces.

A look at production in the Taunus

On-site in Niederlauken, it quickly becomes clear how serious Canton is about quality. The new Vento models don’t just come off an assembly line; they are handcrafted and inspected in many steps. Especially with the curved cabinets, you can see how much experience and precision are needed to bring the shape and acoustic requirements together. This mix of industrial manufacturing and a boutique approach is a central part of the brand’s DNA.

Seitz matters: Co-founder Günther Seitz is still actively involved with the company, for example with the Reference 9 GS Edition he recently designed and named after himself. here, the Taunus veteran shows us the very first Canton speaker, the LE 600, which was also designed for the shelf. Elaborate cabinets for clean sound

Technically, Canton relies on an elaborate cabinet construction for the new Vento series. Multi-layered MDF structures in a curved shape are designed to minimize resonances. Added to this is a sophisticated chamber system that separates individual frequency ranges from one another, enabling cleaner reproduction. Targeted internal damping further reduces unwanted reflections and improves precision.

New driver technology in detail

In the high-frequency range, a black ceramic dome with BC technology is used, designed for maximum detail resolution. A newly developed, square waveguide ensures controlled and uniform dispersion. For the midrange and bass, Canton uses Aluminum-Titanium-Black membranes. They combine high rigidity with low weight, enabling precise and low-distortion signal conversion.

Sonically designed for balance

The sonic tuning of the Vento series remains true to the goal of playing as balanced and naturally as possible. Voices are reproduced clearly and with differentiation, and instruments are cleanly positioned in the room. In the bass range, a tuned bass reflex system provides punch without losing control. Overall, this results in a dynamic soundstage with high fidelity across the entire frequency spectrum.

Wide model range for many applications

Canton is launching the new Vento series as a complete family. The portfolio ranges from wall-mounted speakers to compact and floor-standing models, as well as centers, subwoofers, and Dolby Atmos speakers. This allows for both classic stereo setups and extensive home cinema solutions.

Available now

The new Vento series is available now from specialist retailers. Canton thus remains true to its philosophy of offering high-quality “Made in Germany” speakers with its own production—and shows with the new generation how design, technology, and craftsmanship can be meaningfully evolved.
