The Bose Corporation has just introduced the second generation of its premium over-ears: the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen). The new edition should score points with improved noise canceling, longer battery life and new audio functions – but remains visually close to its predecessor, which we reviewed some time ago.
Improved noise suppression and USB-C audio
The core feature of the QuietComfort series remains active noise cancellation (ANC). Bose promises an even stronger shielding of disturbing ambient noise without distorting the sound. A new feature is the ability to listen to audio directly via USB-C – practical for users who value lossless signal transmission.
The battery should now offer up to 30 hours of music playback. With “Immersive Audio” activated, the battery life is reduced to around 24 hours, but is still in the upper premium segment.
Cinema Mode and Immersive Audio
In addition to the familiar Spatial Sound feature, Bose is introducing a Cinema Mode. This allows the sound and image of films and series to be better synchronized – particularly relevant for streaming on a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Immersive Audio is also intended to provide a more spatial sound image, regardless of the playback device.
Design remains true to its predecessor
Visually, the second generation only differs from the previous Ultra model in a few details. Bose continues to focus on a simple, elegant design with soft ear pads and high wearing comfort. However, the “Sandstone Beige” color option is a new addition to the portfolio alongside black and white.

Prices and availability
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) will be released in fall 2025 with an RRP of 499 euros, clearly positioning them in the high-end segment.
