Premium Design for the Entry-Level Segment
Visually, both new models are inspired by Marantz’s higher-end models. The units feature the brand’s signature front-panel design with a central porthole display, high-quality enclosures, and a classic hi-fi width. The MODEL 70 and the CD 70 are available in black and silver-gold. According to Marantz, the enclosures, circuit design, and component selection have also been specifically revised to further improve sound quality and build quality.
MODEL 70 combines classic hi-fi technology with modern features
Inside, an advanced current-feedback Class A/B amplifier circuit delivers 50 watts per channel. A larger toroidal transformer and an optimized power supply are designed to provide greater dynamics and better control, even with demanding speakers. The company’s proprietary HDAM circuit technology and a high-quality D/A converter are designed to preserve the typical Marantz sound character.
Other features include a built-in MM phono preamp for turntables, numerous analog and digital inputs, and HDMI ARC. This allows TV audio to be played directly through the amplifier and conveniently controlled using the TV remote. It also features Bluetooth with aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, AAC, and SBC. In addition to streaming music from a smartphone, the amplifier also supports wireless playback on compatible Bluetooth headphones.
The CD 70 also plays high-resolution files
The new CD 70 also uses HDAM technology and a high-quality D/A converter. High-resolution music files such as FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF, and DSD can be played back via the USB-A port.
To ensure an uninterrupted music listening experience, the player also features a discrete headphone amplifier with adjustable gain and automatic headphone detection. Improved power supplies, a double-layered chassis, and strategically placed copper components are designed to reduce vibrations and interference.

More Sustainable Packaging
Sustainability is also a key consideration for the new hi-fi components. Marantz ships the MODEL 70 and CD 70 in packaging with reduced plastic content. FSC-certified cardboard boxes and paper-based protective elements are designed to reduce the environmental impact.
