With the new BandBox series, JBL is expanding its portfolio with a product category specifically designed for creative music-making. The JBL BandBox Solo and JBL BandBox Trio models combine powerful JBL sound with AI-powered real-time separation of vocals and instruments, integrated effects, and extensive practice tools. The target group is musicians who want to practice, jam, or perform flexibly – regardless of location and setup.
The focus is on a function that was previously known primarily from software solutions: Stem AI directly in the device.
Stem AI: Flexibly adjust songs – without internet
The core of the BandBox series is the integrated Stem AI technology, which can isolate, lower, or remove individual parts of a song such as vocals, guitar, or drums in real time. The processing takes place completely locally on the device; an internet connection or cloud connection is not required.
This allows you to create individual backing tracks that are precisely tailored to your own instrument – ideal for practice sessions, spontaneous jam sessions, or making music together. The AI-based separation works with any Bluetooth streaming source and makes the BandBox a versatile creative tool.
Powerful JBL sound in a compact format
Both models rely on a sound that is specially tailored to instruments, vocals, and music playback. Clear highs, precise mids, and controlled bass ensure a balanced sound – both when practicing quietly at home and during sessions or small gigs on the go.
In addition to the musician functionality, both devices can also be used as classic Bluetooth speakers.

JBL BandBox Solo: Compact solution for solo musicians
The BandBox Solo is aimed at solo musicians, singer-songwriters, and hobby guitarists who want to work with minimal equipment. Despite its compact dimensions, it offers a guitar or microphone input and plug-and-play convenience.
Favorite songs are streamed directly, while Stem AI specifically removes or reduces individual instruments from the track. Amplifier models from classic to modern as well as effects such as reverb, phaser or chorus are available via the JBL ONE App. The setup is complemented by practical tools such as tuner, metronome and looper.
The BandBox Solo can be connected directly to the laptop via USB-C to transfer the signal to a DAW – for recording or songwriting, for example.
JBL BandBox Trio: For bands and small gigs
The BandBox Trio is functionally based on the Solo, but is clearly aimed at groups, jam sessions and smaller live setups. Four instrument inputs, an integrated 4-channel mixer and extended controls enable control of levels, sound and effects directly on the device.
With 135 watts of power, a 6.5-inch woofer and two 1-inch tweeters, the Trio version delivers significantly more sound pressure. Microphone effects such as reverb and delay, a large color display and an intuitive user interface make it easier to use in the rehearsal room or at gigs. The battery life is up to 10 hours, the battery is replaceable.
In addition, the BandBox Trio can be used as a monitor speaker in extended PA setups.

Making music easier than you think
“The JBL BandBox was developed specifically for the needs of musicians,” explains Carsten Olesen, President of Consumer Audio at HARMAN. “With the integrated Stem AI algorithm, vocals or instruments can be removed directly on the device – without the internet. This makes practicing, developing and making music together much easier.”
