Vinyl, CD, radio, or music from a smartphone: The new Yamaha R200A combines classic hi-fi sources with wireless playback devices. The stereo receiver features a phono input, Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connectivity, and a subwoofer output. Yamaha rates the amplifier output at 2 × 100 watts into 8 ohms.
Old Love, New Wavelength
The Yamaha R200A provides a direct connection for your record collection: Its phono input is compatible with turntables featuring MM cartridges. Three additional analog RCA inputs accommodate devices such as a CD player and other audio sources. For radio programming, the European model is equipped with a DAB+/FM tuner.
If you prefer to stream music from your smartphone or tablet, use Bluetooth 5.3. Multipoint lets you keep two devices connected at the same time and switch between them as your music source. There’s no need to reconnect when switching.

The R200A also offers flexibility when it comes to speaker connections: The A/B switching allows you to connect two pairs of stereo speakers, which can be operated individually or together. This makes it possible, for example, to power speakers in the living room and another pair in the next room. A separate output for an active subwoofer provides additional bass depth. A 6.3-mm jack is available for listening with headphones; a remote control is included.
Inside, Yamaha relies on optimized signal paths and a center beam within the enclosure. This so-called center beam is designed to stiffen the structure and reduce vibrations. A well-designed circuit layout and heat dissipation are intended to contribute to low-noise, stable operation.
