Marshall has given its compact Bluetooth speaker Stockwell an extensive update. The new Stockwell III should not only last significantly longer than its predecessor, but also score points with improved all-round sound, greater durability and a more sustainable design.
The third generation of the mobile speaker remains true to the typical Marshall look. The striking design with metal grille, brass controls and guitar strap-inspired carrying strap is immediately recognizable as a product of the British brand. At the same time, Marshall has redesigned the control panel and simplified the controls. Presets can now be called up directly via the M button, while a new media control provides quick access to playback.
Twice the battery life of its predecessor
The most striking innovation concerns the endurance. Marshall promises more than 40 hours of wireless playback time for the Stockwell III. This means that the new speaker should last twice as long as its predecessor, the Stockwell II. Whether at the lake, camping or on the terrace: the Stockwell III should also survive longer weekends without a power socket.
In addition, the speaker can be used as a power bank via its USB-C port and supply smartphones or other mobile devices with power while on the move.
360-degree sound without a sweet spot
Marshall continues to rely on its True Stereophonic technology for sound reproduction. This is designed to produce an even 360-degree sound so that the speaker offers the most homogeneous reproduction possible regardless of its position in the room. Marshall promises that there is no classic sweet spot and an even sound from almost any angle.
This is supported by the Dynamic Loudness technology. It automatically adjusts the sound balance to the set volume. At low levels, bass and treble are boosted, while the tuning is neutralized again at higher volumes. The aim is to achieve a balanced sound regardless of the level.
Robust for on the go
The Stockwell III is protected against dust and splash water to IP55 and is therefore better equipped for mobile use than many classic Bluetooth speakers in living room format. Marshall explicitly states that it can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The manufacturer is also pursuing a more sustainable approach. The battery, front and rear grilles, silicone cover and carrying strap are modular and interchangeable. This is intended to extend the service life of the speaker.
Technical data
Inside, a 3-inch woofer works together with two 1.75-inch full-range drivers. The amplifier section consists of a 65-watt Class D amplifier for the woofer and two further Class D amplifiers with 31 watts each for the full-range drivers. The frequency range is specified as 54 hertz to 20 kilohertz.
With dimensions of 181 × 150 × 72 millimeters and a weight of 1.3 kilograms, the speaker remains conveniently portable.
Price and availability
The Marshall Stockwell III will be available from August 18, 2026 via the Marshall website. The recommended retail price is 229 euros. The speaker will also be available at selected retailers from August 25.
Initial assessment
With the Stockwell III, Marshall is modernizing one of its most popular mobile speakers in key areas. The significantly longer battery life, the modular design and the continued compact construction make the Bluetooth speaker particularly interesting for travel and outdoor use.
