Marshall is expanding its home audio lineup with the fourth generation of its popular speakers. The Acton IV and Stanmore IV are designed to impress with a wider soundstage, more powerful bass, built-in Auracast technology, andnew convenience features. At the same time, the iconic design—featuring a leather-look finish, brass controls, and the signature front grille—remains unchanged.
Better Sound Thanks to New Acoustic Tuning
At the heart of the new generation is a redesigned acoustic system. Marshall has equipped both models with optimized tweeters and newly developed waveguides, which are designed to distribute sound more evenly throughout the room. As a result, the manufacturer promises a wider and more precise soundstage with better instrument separation.
The bass has also been redesigned. A redesigned bass reflex port is intended to optimize airflow, thereby providing deeper bass and cleaner sound reproduction. At the same time, the cables now run along the bottom of the enclosure, allowing the speakers to be placed flush against a wall without compromising sound quality.
Dynamic Loudness for Consistent Sound
Another new feature is Dynamic Loudness. This feature automatically adjusts the sound balance to the selected volume level, ensuring that music retains its richness and detail even at low volumes. At high volume levels, improved limiters are designed to reduce distortion and ensure a cleaner sound.
Marshall Relys on Auracast and Multiroom
With the fourth generation, Auracast is now also available in Marshall’s home speakers. This allows multiple Acton IV and Stanmore IV models to be operated in sync. Owners of an Acton III or Stanmore III can also expand their existing setup using the new Heddon streaming hub and use multiple speakers together.
Setup is done through the Marshall app. According to the manufacturer, all you need to do afterward is press the new M button to start synchronized music playback throughout your home.
Classic Marshall design with new features
Visually, both speakers remain true to their roots. Marshall continues to feature the familiar leather look, the salt-and-pepper front grille, and the brass control panel reminiscent of guitar amplifiers.
New features include redesigned media controls, a customizable M button for favorite EQ settings or Spotify Tap, and an updated Marshall app with room calibration and EQ presets. In addition to Bluetooth, RCA and AUX inputs are now available, making it easy to connect turntables, among other devices.
Sustainability and Repairability
Marshall also emphasizes sustainability in its new generation of speakers. The MDF enclosures are made entirely of FSC-certified wood. In addition, components such as controls, feet, and front grilles can be replaced and repaired.
According to the manufacturer, the Acton IV is made of 13 percent recycled materials, while the Stanmore IV is made of 16 percent recycled materials.
