KS Digital is bringing the C55-Reference—an all-white home version—into the living room. For the market launch, the Saarbrücken-based manufacturer is offering the coaxial active speaker in a bundle with the FinalFR room acoustics software and the corresponding hardware adapter. The suggested retail price is 3,950 euros per pair.

Knows how to do it

The 20-centimeter-wide compact speaker can be used in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. The illuminated KSD logo can be rotated accordingly and indicates when the speaker is ready for use and when the limiter is engaged.

The coaxial driver features a 1-inch neodymium-powered fabric dome tweeter and a 5.5-inch glass-fiber cone mid-bass driver mounted on a common axis. This design is intended to support spatially precise sound reproduction. KS Digital specifies a total amplifier power of 350 watts RMS per speaker and a lower cutoff frequency of 35 hertz.

FIRTech for Frequency Response and Time Response

The C55-Reference utilizes the patented FIRTech digital technology, which is also used in Backes&Müller’s active speakers. It handles the crossover and correction filters.

According to KS Digital, each unit is measured at the factory and shipped with individual corrections for frequency response and time alignment. The manufacturer aims to achieve consistent speaker tuning and precise stereo imaging.

Music signals enter the speaker via analog, balanced XLR inputs. After conversion, internal signal processing is performed digitally at 24-bit resolution and 192 kilohertz.

FinalFR adapts the sound to the room

A PC or Mac connects to the speaker DSP via the included hardware adapter. The FinalFR software provides access to two tone controls and six fully parametric filters with different characteristics.

This allows you to tailor the sound reproduction to the speaker setup, the listening room, and your personal preferences. The software displays the selected filter curve in real time.

Price, Availability, and Trade Show Presence

According to the manufacturer, the white KS Digital C55 Reference Bundle with FinalFR and the software adapter is available now for 3,950 euros per pair. The studio versions with a matte black enclosure remain available for individual purchase.

KS Digital will also be exhibiting at the Finest Audio Show Darmstadt on October 17 and 18, 2026. Visitors can find the manufacturer in Room 2.06 Argentum at the darmstadtium.
