Denon will launch the DP-500BT in Europe in November 2026. The semi-automatic turntable combines a belt drive, an S-shaped tonearm, and a built-in phono preamp with Bluetooth. For wireless playback, it supports aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, among other technologies. The suggested retail price is 849 euros.
Records Are Making the Rounds
The DP-500BT features a die-cast aluminum platter and a statically balanced, S-shaped tonearm. You can choose between 33⅓, 45, and 78 revolutions per minute. An MM cartridge is pre-installed.
Thanks to the switchable phono preamp, the Denon can be connected to either a phono input or a standard line input. This allows active speakers with a compatible analog input to be used directly.
Semi-automatic with Auto-Lift and Auto-Stop
To start, manually guide the tonearm to the desired spot on the record and lower it using the tonearm lift. At the end of the record side, the Auto-Lift function automatically raises the tonearm; the turntable then stops. The automatic function can be disabled using a switch on the back panel.
Bluetooth for speakers, soundbars, and headphones
The DP-500BT streams music to compatible speakers, soundbars, or headphones via Bluetooth. In addition to SBC, it supports aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive. The codec used depends on the capabilities of the receiving device.
The Bluetooth volume can be adjusted using buttons on the turntable. The analog RCA output remains usable even when a Bluetooth connection is active.
Denon also provides for integration into a HEOS multi-room system. To do this, the turntable is connected to a compatible HEOS device via Bluetooth or an analog connection. This device then distributes the music to other HEOS devices throughout the home.
Design, Price, and Availability
According to Denon, the two-tone design is inspired by the flagship DP-3000NE. Cast-iron feet and a vibration-dampening design are intended to ensure stability. A removable dust cover is included.
The DP-500BT has been available in select markets since March 2026. It will launch in Europe in November 2026 at authorized Denon retailers and in the manufacturer’s online store. The MSRP is 849 euros.
